An innocent question posted on Facebook Is it me or that everyone either owns an iPhone or a BlackBerry lately? Less than an hour ago, one of my friends got herself a brand new iPhone, while another got her BlackBerry a couple of days earlier — and updated their status with their swanky new devices. I don’t know about you, but it’s kinda tempting to get one brand new mobile set after seeing friends after friends talking about their new device, and going onto Twitter and Facebook with them 24/7.

So you’ve graduated from high school and now you are off to pursue higher college education. Whether you made a decision to go to a public state college or a private university, there are several things that students need to be forewarn about otherwise they’ll fall into academic probation and fail which eventually gets them kicked out of school. You don’t to fall down that road after the hard work you and your parents have paved the way for you from the beginning.

If it’s told to straighten up its act for any reason, it’ll endlessly delay and prevaricate, dragging things out to the absolute last moment before it complies, and even then, it’ll beg for more time.  And it’ll get it. Meanwhile, the problems behind the complaints which inspired the order in the first place continue.

There are many pro writers out there worried by piracy, who see the internet as the greatest illegal intellectual land-grab of all time. Here’s the deal:  if you’re worried enough to want to stop it, you’re not only going to have to stop people’s internet connections, you’re also going to have to ban photocopiers, computer scanners, OCR software, and computers. At the least. The vast majority of those books floating around on bittorrent sites were derived from print copies of books.
