It was horrible to see the numbers killed; so easily solved by stopping traffic for a few short hours on a quiet road. Fortunately, you have seen the importance of this matter and have acted quickly to deal with it. (When the same request was made in spring and the previous fall, it was ignored). But hopefully the wildlife will be able to recover, and I am really happy to think they can carry on in peace for the few short hours they need to carry on their ancient ritual.

I am trying to figure out Boo Boo right now. As my social butterfly, in the past he was always asking to go places and do things and see friends. I was always wondering whether homeschooling him would work in the coming years because of his apparent need for daily interaction with people. (Another good reason to have more kids! ) But lately, since we started to do things with our various homeschooling groups and our new co-op, I’ve been hearing a very strange request from him: “Mama, I want to go home.” Considering that I’ve joined these groups and brought our family to these activities for HIM, it’s a little exasperating!

I have to say that kindergarten is going well.  Gooshy is really liking it and making lots of friends.  (he is a social butterfly like his mom!)  He plays a lot, gets books read to him, and did I mention that he plays a lot? So is it enough?  He has been in daycare 3-4 days/week since he was 6 months.  And he has been in Montessori pre-school for 2 years.  He can read and write, do (very little) Spanish and has started doing math.

This week I’ve been taking some big deep breaths and taking a few days off from paper crafting. It’s really a break I needed just to regroup a little. I’ll borrow Becky’s words here and tell you, it’s really the end of an era for me. I’ve officially finished my last stamp set for CHF. There’s another Rummage Bin set (my favorite one to date) due out in November and quite a few Scrapblocks still to be released. I’ll let you know when they are.

I found myself asking myself…. Is blogging Right for me? Am i wasting my time here. Should i take up scrap booking rather? Do you enjoy writing? – Hmmm..

You know, in the softer countries of the world, where real problems like famine and never ending civil war have been tamped down to near invisibility, it feels sometimes that people get up in arms about the smallest of things.  Because real problems are things that only happen in third world countries, it almost feels like people who live in “civilized” countries have to make up conflict to keep things interesting; everything can be seen as offensive, and everyone is just one bad day away from a lawsuit.

I’ve been sitting here for the last half hour, trying to put what’s going on in my head onto the page. It isn’t pretty (what’s in my head). The topics include making decisions about: My mother Her alcoholism My wedding day. It’s just too hard to put into tangible sentences without sounding like a sooky-lah-lah. I also keep getting blog-fright because OHMYGOD someone else might read it. Which is kinda the point, yeah? My decisions on the those 3 topics are all linked; the butterfly effect that could make or break my brain.
